I found this CPU in the box of already dissasembled computers. The heat sink was removed, but I never seen CPU with voltage regulator "onboard".

The regulator is LT912, On Other side of CPU: A5381434CB, A4, CS 49.

Looks like a Pentium-Overdrive for 486 systems with its heatsink removed. Have a look at the corners of that chip, there might be something like "63" or "83" printed on it. This number denotes the chip's speed.
63MHz -> http://cpu-museum.de/?m=Intel&f=Overdrive+CPUs#cpu0600
83MHz -> http://cpu-museum.de/?m=Intel&f=Overdrive+CPUs#cpu0130

P.S.: the steel thing in the background might be an early P-II-Xeon cartridge Very Happy

Thanks. It is 83MHz model.

BTW, is worth to collect CPU's maybe for sale? I work in hardware recycling company and we have lots of old computers. All hardware is milled to dust for further prime metal refinery. So I can grab some CPU's just for fun Smile

I ordered disassemblers to put all CPU and any other chips like CPUs to special box.

Here is my small collection of pullouts. I love only ceramic. That small P4 just because I was interested what is under that metal cover.
I collected working computers, but they are quite big for my collection Smile.

How long did it take to collect this bunch of chips, if i'm allowed ask?

I'm asking this question because there you've got (in my opinion) quite a lot of rare chips, like the weitek fpus ...

all weiteks come from one computer. It was big SGI computer. I don't remember the name- Personal Iris? All other chips I collected in 2-3 occasional visits to the warehouse. These FPUs are used in videocard. I have working "elan" video card- it contains 6 (six!) huge chips. Four of them are GPUs (FPUs in other words).

To find such nice chips you need to find big supercomputers Smile

If I'll have spare time I'll colect my first cpu harvest tomorrow Smile

what a shame to throw all those pc´s away, I really hate it to see pc´s being trown away, if you just imagine what you could do when you put for example 20 486´s together.
